The Ace hotel in Portland Oregon on a rainy winter evening is a refuge. The slightly yellowed lights giving everything a warm glow and the enormous low slung couch invites slinky slouching posture and deep serious conversation.
Alex proposed to Lisa between the first and third flashes of the photo booth bulb. The Ace Hotel is renowned for the sepia toned old school photo booth in the lobby and passers-by are often lured in by the appeal of a moment of time travel on a spinning vinyl seat. Alex pulled the ring his mother had sent him in the mail out of his pocket and like a perfect scene from any great date night movie he asked the beautiful woman he loves to marry him.
